Weeks House and Gardens

September 14, Saturday: Weeks Brick House & Gardens Tour; Wine & Cheese Fundraiser. On September 14-15, 2019, the Annual Meeting of the Weeks Brick House will be held on the grounds of Samuel Weeks’ house off Rte. 33. Greenland Historical Society is helping publicize the events, which are open to the public. Why not become a member of both GHS and the Weeks Brick House on that weekend? On Sept. 14 Self-Guided Tours from 1:00 pm, and a Wine & Cheese Fundraiser from 5:00-7:00 pm. (ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED for Fundraiser.) November 2, Saturday: Honoring Greenland’s War Veterans. A GHS committee led by Donna Waldron is in the early stages of an ambitious project: A virtual tour of Hillside and Prospect Hill cemeteries, beginning with identifying gravesites of the veterans who died in defense of American ideals. In November we’ll hear their stories.

February 8, Saturday: New Displays from the Archives and Annual Reports. Members of the Society have undertaken a variety of projects to fulfill the goals: “Preserve, Educate, Be Active.” Displays will include photos and artifacts. A light lunch will be served.

April, Date TBD: Greenland School Turns 100 in 2020—Happy Birthday! Planning has begun on the many ways to celebrate Greenland Central School’s milestone anniversary. Member Bette Hirtle is collaborating with teachers on interactive activities for the whole community.
